Prepare Your Cannabis

Start by grinding your flower into smaller pieces, so it easily falls into your joint cone. The best way to do this is with a weed grinder. We carry a wide variety of marijuana grinders that will get your weed to the perfect consistency.

The average pre-rolled cone fits about 0.5 to 1 gram of cannabis. Finely grind enough weed to a fine consistency. If the pieces are too large, they won’t fit into the pre-rolled cone.

Fill Your Weed Cone

To start filling your cone, pick up the pieces of cannabis and put them into the bottom (the large end without the joint filter) of your joint cone. It’s best to do this over a rolling tray to catch any stray marijuana. Some people do this with tweezers, but your fingers work just as well.

Pack It Down

Once your pre-rolled cone has a fair amount of weed, it’s time to pack it down!

Many weed cones come with a packing stick, so the cannabis in your cone is tight and full, but you can also buy single bamboo packing sticks from King Palm. If you don’t have a packing stick, you can use a similar item that will fit into the joint cone, such as a toothpick or even the bottom of a pencil.

Pack along the way to fill your weed cone. Stick the packing stick into the bottom end of your pre-roll cone and use it to compress the weed in the cone. Be careful that you’re not packing too tightly, or you won’t be able to get enough airflow in your joint cone while you smoke. 

Continue adding cannabis until your pre-rolled cone is full, except for about a quarter inch of space at the bottom.

Seal Off Your Marijuana Cone

Now that your pre-roll cone is full, you can seal it off. This prevents your cannabis from falling out, and makes it much easier to transport your weed cones.

All you have to do is twist this extra material with your thumb and pointer finger. You should have an end that looks like a wick.
